3 ways to monetize your Tumblr blog

There are three ways that you can monetize with Tumblr

• Google Adsense. But please, keep one only ad unit in your template or you will end up pissing people off. Beside, the next Google update will not go easy on Adsense junkies.
• Affiliate programs. Useful if you do lots of reviews of products. Don’t fake your tumblr as some kind of e-commerce. It won’t work. And also, stop review financial services and credit cards, I know that they pay well for each lead but, hey, people are sick of it.
• Sponsored content. It could happen than an agency pitch you, asking for reviewing something. Feel free to pitch back and ask some $$$/€€€ for it. But remember to put a disclousure on it.

There is nothing bad on trying to make some earning with your Tumblr blog. The point is: it won’t make you rich, I hardly bought a pizza and a diet coke with adsense. So, keep it easy and keep it sane. Have fun when you produce content, do it for yourself and enjoy that extra bling bling. Most of all, don’t piss of your readers! :)
